The Koran is the Most-Advanced Anti-Virus Program Humanity has Received By NURIYE AKMAN Published: Monday, July 04, 2005 zaman.com
Dr Ender Sarac's book, "The Healing Hand of Nature" published by Dogan Publishing has been among the best selling books over the last couple of weeks. It provides practical information, in an easy to understand language, about vitamins, teas, spices, as well as antioxidants and oligoelements that have recently been regularly spoken and written about in the media, and recommends practical recipes for problems such as constipation, stress, sleeping disorders and even healthy fasting, which complement the Turkish people's way of life and their eating habits.
If the recipes you provide are all your own creation, then they will be unique. How are we to trust them?
The recipes are the result of my experiences working with thousands of cases. Of course, some have been tried and tested over a long period of time and their effectiveness is evident. I do not cast Medical Science aside; on the contrary, by highlighting preventive medicine to complement classical medicine, I work to teach Turkish people ways to reduce the risk of falling ill, to eat and live in a healthier way, and to be more mentally and physically well. I aim to enhance the efficiency of the classical treatment and to reduce its side effects. I think research based on experiments conducted on animals under laboratory conditions might not be realistic enough. Leave these animals in their natural habitat and their chemistry would change. This exclusive recourse to animal experiments is like making generalized judgments obtained from observing incarcerated men as opposed to the whole of mankind. Furthermore, I think the inbuilt intelligence that man processes is the very same material in a variety of ways under differing circumstances. My patients' reactions in response to individual treatments given to them, for me are as important as scientific research. Sometimes we see a treatment, promoted as efficient, beneficial and harmless, later we see it being withdrawn from the market because of its negative side effects. However, man has used mostly natural medicaments and treatments for thousands of years. For these reasons their effectiveness and their side effects are better understood.
But not a lot of research has been conducted into the interaction between natural and chemical treatments.
Natural preparations should not be haphazardly used in conjunction with chemical treatments. It is necessary to consult a physician regarding this. For example taking Omega-3 tablets together with the anticoagulant aspirin can be very risky given the effects of both on blood coagulation. Taking Aloe Vera while suffering from diarrhea may increase gastrointestinal activity. Too much thyme can increase blood pressure by one point in individuals with normally high blood pressure. In fact, there is detailed coverage of such occurrences in my book. Natural substances are in general safe, as long as they are not used in excessive doses.
What about the view that the herbal supplements recommended for the treatment of cancer negatively affects the healing effects obtained from chemotherapy? You do not agree with this view based on your own experiences, but what about the patient who has to make the decision?
I observed in hundreds of patients coping with stress that the use of herbal drinks and certain spices accompanying the informed use of natural preparations prove to be very efficient in the treatment of cancer. These supplementary treatments are given in consultation with oncology specialists and they affect the life span expectations and the quality of life of these patients very positively. These patients live with less pain and suffer fewer side effects from such cancer treatments as chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy.
There are doctors who forbid their patients to use these preparations. The patient then finds himself or herself facing a dilemma
Contrary to those doctors, there are some very respected oncologists in Turkey who send their patients to me. There has been a drop in the number of doctors opposed to such complementary treatments as they observed people using complementary medical treatments and have survived. Eventually the decision depends on the doctor's own initiative and he or she may not believe in the effectiveness of natural methods of medicine, and they may prefer to pursue the publications of pharmaceutical companies. Some doctors, while embracing these pharmaceuticals may feel the need to introduce some elements to offset the side effects of these drugs in order to improve the quality of life of their patients. Another group of doctors may exclusively adopt natural methods. I respect all of these methods so long as in their pursuit one makes use of the hygienic preparations, officially authorized products, and are careful not to cause harm to the patient.
You had previously adopted an approach formed within the framework of Indian teachings and had classified human bodies into types. If this classification is valid also in the case of Turkish people, why did you not take it into account in this new book?
Ayurveda holistic treatment is a universal teaching. I interpreted this medical approach and took note of the specificities of Turkish people, and obtained very positive results. However as my acquaintance with Far Eastern medical systems intensified I realized our own culture too offers many beneficial and effective precepts. Previously we sniffed at Oriental teachings, and now, the West has discovered and tested them in a Western scientific perspective. We acknowledge them only after they came back to us from the West. I surmise, as the technology develops sufficiently to enable us to detect subtle energies, we will learn that there may be various energies we cannot sense with our five senses, which nonetheless have an impact on us. We will see, the subtle energies that coined expressions such as 'radiant person', 'gloomy house', 'casting an evil eye', 'his star shone' etc. will become detectable.
It is known that turning inward to discover one's spiritual aspects enhances the efficiency of the immune system. How does this happen? How can intangibles like prayer and thought affect something tangible like the physical body?
In fact there is no such thing as intangibles. There are things that cannot be perceived through the five senses. As we are created in this realm, we term as 'existent' only that which we can sense with our five senses. By making use of energy waves we can not sense, the bat finds its way and can feed; the bee in spite of its color blindness and by simply making use of ultra-violet emanations can travel distances of up to 17 km away from their hives and then return. A dog can hear high frequency sounds that we cannot hear, and senses the minutest vibrations of the earth surface allowing them to understand their master parking the car and walking home from a distance of 300 meters. These advantages do not exist for us, but they exist for a dog, a bat and a bee. Looking inward makes use of available energies on a quantum level that pass unperceived by our five senses.
It was discovered that there are tiny vibrations termed as quanta, standing on the edge between matter and energy enabling them to go back and forth between these two modes. When quanta becomes stimulated on subtle energy levels they can turn into atoms, then into molecules and then into a variety of material levels.
That is, the thought or the supplication operates as the stimulant
Yes, thought is a very subtle energy. Everything in reality starts with these vibrations. These are the first things that come from the inner realm of man and are indispensable for their materialization. For example, I now think about raising my arm and I raise it. At first there is the tiny seed of an apple tree, carrying the entire information archive of the apple. When suitable conditions emerge the software loaded into its DNA, the mnemonic energy becomes an apple tree. Hindus sets our inner vibrations at special frequencies into motion by chanting certain mantras, for example using the sound 'om'.
You often refer to meditation, to Reiki, to positive energy exercises, and to yoga. Why should a Muslim meditate through the sound 'om', leaving aside the name and attributes of Allah? Why should he or she practice yoga when they must observe namaz (the five daily prayers)? Every culture has its own peculiar register in its social memory.
I think the rituals I regularly observe fit better with my own culture and make up. Of course, the recitation of Esma-ul Husna [Beautiful Names of Allah] a certain number of times also has such an effect. For example, reciting the Sura Felak a specific number of times protects one from the negative energy coming from without, by forming an energy shield. One-day science will be able to prove this. However, every one should do whatever he or she feels comfortable with. Perhaps as the number of non-self-imposing individuals filled with love like myself increases, people will approach each other without prejudice and more easily, and any misunderstandings will be eliminated. Many of those who experience spiritual advancement through Far Eastern cultures come to discern values they had not been able to discern previously. Let everyone practice whatever he or she thinks is right.
Do you have anything to recommend to those who worship regularly?
A human being is immaculate at the instant they are born. As he or she grows older, and the number of experiences grows, if the individual does not protect himself or herself appropriately they begin to degenerate. Just like a computer virus that infiltrates a computer and takes hold at a later time to destroy the software and reduce its performance, in human beings too, after a certain amount of time, negative incidents and behaviors can emerge. As time goes by these defects and the resulting negative energies begin to materialize and form the physiological states we term as 'maladies'.
Then should we consider religions as anti-virus software?
Of course, the human nervous system is open to negative energies, just like computers are liable to be infected with computer viruses. For this reason just as we format our computers or download anti-virus programs, we should format ourselves that is to purify ourselves, and upload protective anti-virus programs. The Koran is the most advanced 'anti-virus program' that has been bestowed on humanity. The knowledge within it and its very energy reinforces our protective shields. Just as there is a developing succession of MS Windows versions, humanity received advanced spiritual programs at certain intervals. These programs are executed by sages, or by operators with the authorization to execute these programs, that is the prophets.
Let's hear your recommendations.
If someone who practices ablution five times a day does not think about hygiene they may increase the risk of developing a fungal infection. I recommend they dry their socks by turning them inside out, to ensure that they get direct sunlight. They can wipe dry their toes with their own towel or with a paper towel. Moreover they should, from time to time, uncover their feet and allow them receive some sunlight and they should be dried with a hair dryer. Furthermore, I want to warn veiled women who prefer dark colors of the dangers of osteoporosis. If an individual does not receive any sunlight for long periods of time they become deficient in vitamin D and this may lead to aching bones and osteoporosis. For this reason it is important to expose yourself to direct sunlight daily for at least 10 to15 minutes. Sunlight passing through a glass is not sufficient, as the glass absorbs the ultra-violet light and prevents vitamin D from being activated in the body. Taking calcium, magnesium, and zinc supplements, regular exercise and jogging or walking, the regular consumption of of dairy products from an early age, and increased consumption from 35 onwards, helps to protect women against such problems as osteoporosis, aching bones, reductions in height and hunchbacks.
